Kalee Guauta is a self-taught Colombian contemporary artist whose practice explores memory, perception, vulnerability, faith, healing, and the human interior through painting. His work combines symbolism and surrealism with an ongoing investigation into crossmodality and sensory experience.
Since 2015, Guauta has investigated the relationships between the senses and the possibilities of expanding the pictorial experience through visual, auditory, tactile, spatial, gastronomic, and performative elements. Since 2018, mental and emotional processes have become an important dimension of his practice, leading to a body of work concerned with vulnerability, personal healing, and the construction of symbolic languages for experiences that are difficult to articulate through words.
His recent practice has incorporated faith, spirituality, darkness, light, and healing as fundamental dimensions of his artistic research. In 2025, he developed Sanar, an artistic project, and Tiniebla Luminosa, a pictorial series. In 2026, he presented Entre telas de sanación, a pop-up exhibition bringing together works from these and previous projects.
Since January 2026, Guauta has been developing an ongoing artistic investigation into silence, approaching it not only as the absence of speech, but as a practice of perception, introspection, presence, faith, and resistance to external noise.
