Prelude | 2026

PRELUDE is conceived as a transitional space within Kalee Guauta’s practice. The series brings together works treated as exercises in exploration, in which various formal and material decisions are put to the test without the need to reach a definitive resolution just yet.

Rather than foreshadowing a future work, PRELUDE captures a moment of openness: a process in which the practice becomes a space for exploration, and where each decision allows a possibility to be revealed, discarded, or transformed.

In this sense, the series functions as a threshold—a place where the work is still discovering which direction to take.
